We Believe

We believe that God is love and as such you should feel and experience His love when you are assembled in the presence of believers. To that end we sincerely hope that any time you join us, your visit is characterized by that love.

HOLY SCRIPTURES

We believe the Holy Scriptures, in both Old Testament and New Testament, to be the verbally inspired, infallible Word of God.  It is directed by the Holy Spirit and inerrant in the original writing.  If one’s life is molded around the whole of these words, they will serve as the final and ultimate authority for genuine faith and a meaningful and fulfilling life.  (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; Matt. 5:18; John 16:12,13)

THE GODHEAD

We believe there is one Triune God, who is eternally existent in the form of three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Blessed Trinity. They each are eternal in nature and co-equal in power, glory and perfection.  (Deut. 6:4; 2 Cor. 13:14)

GOD THE SON

We believe in Jesus Christ and that he is the Son of God, co-equal with the Father.  Jesus lived a sinless, perfect life and as such became the supreme sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross.  He rose from the dead after three days as prophesied, demonstrating His power over, death, sin and sin’s penalty.  He ascended to heaven where He sits at His Father’s right hand serving as advocate and intercessor for all who will believe and accept Him.  We believe that He will return again someday to earth where He will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Matt. 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-15; 14:10-30; Heb. 4:14,15; 1 Cor. 15:3,4; Rom. 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Tim. 6:14,15; Titus 2:13)

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit and that He is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God.  He takes residence in the heart of every Christian from the instant of salvation and is present in the world to point out our need for salvation through Christ.  A genuine Spirit-led life will endow a Christian with power to experience a meaningful, fruitful and victorious life, better understanding scriptural truths and enjoying boldness in sharing the gospel with others.  (2 Cor. 3-17; John 16:7-13; 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor. 2:12; 3:16; Eph. 1:13; 5:18; Gal. 5:25)

MANKIND

We believe mankind was created in the image of God, intended to mirror Him in character and maintain fellowship with Him.   Humans are the ultimate object of God’s creation, endowed with unlimited potential for good. However, all of mankind is also granted a “free will” and as such is subject to disobedience towards God, otherwise known as sin. (Gen. 1:27; Psalms 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1,2; Rom. 3:23)

 SALVATION

We believe that Salvation is available by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ and Him alone.  This great gift of Salvation is free to us but must be accepted by all true believers in order to experience it.  Only through trusting in the perfect and redemptive work of Christ as God’s offering for forgiveness is it possible for anyone to be saved from sin and it’s ultimate penalty.  The promise of eternal life belongs to all believers the moment they receive Jesus Christ into their lives by grace through faith.  (Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8,9; John 14:6; 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Rom. 5:1)

ETERNITY

We believe that mankind was created by God to exist eternally.  One will either exist eternally  separated from God because of sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.  Hell is a real place that is eternal for those who fail to experience salvation by grace through faith.  Heaven is a real place that is eternal for those who choose to experience salvation by grace through faith.  (John 3:16; 12:25; 14:2,3; 17:3; Rom. 6:23; Rev. 20:15)

THE CHURCH

We believe the church is the body and espoused bride of Christ, a spiritual organism consisting of all born-again believers.  The establishment and continuance of churches is taught in New Testament Scriptures.  We also believe that scriptures teach the autonomy and local control of churches, free of any external authority or influence.  (Eph. 1:22,23; 5:25-27; Cor. 12:12-14; 2 Cor. 11:2; Acts 14:27; 20:17,28-32; 1 Tim. 3;1-3; Titus 1:5-11; Acts 13:1-4; 15:19-31; 20:28; Rom. 16:1,4; 1 Cor.3:9-16; 5:4-7,13; 1 Peter 5:1-4)

SANCTITY OF LIFE

We believe that Biblical revelation clearly and consistently affirms that human life is formed by God in His image and is therefore worthy of honor and dignity.  We believe that God alone is the author of life and numbers our days starting at conception and through natural death. (Gen. 1:27; 9:6; Job 14:5-7; Psalms 39:4)
